All our High Gloss Floss Silks are made from Continuous Filament (Nett) yarn. Continuous filament yarn is thread which is reeled off the cocoons and wound into skeins or hanks. Over 1,000 metres can be reeled off one cocoon. This type of silk has the most luxurious lustre.

Pipers Floss Silk is an excellent embroidery yarn. The floss silks lend themselves to being gently folded together to make the popular "Folded" Floss Silks.
::

It is very easy to blend and tone colours with our floss silks by using more than on strand in the needle. Many beautiful lace designs use our floss silks as illustrated by Ulrike Voelcker in her butterfly and flower patterns and this is the silk thread that fishermen use to make flies for fly-fishing!
