Running for Hope: Chloe Bellotti Takes on the Brighton Marathon 2025

At Pipers Silks, our commitment to supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK remains unwavering. We're incredibly proud to announce that our own Chloe Bellotti will run the Brighton Marathon on 6th April 2025 to raise vital funds for this crucial cause.

A Personal Journey

For Chloe, this challenge is deeply personal. In March 2020, she lost her beloved father to pancreatic cancer after a two-year battle with the disease. While her family was fortunate to have precious time with him, many families aren't given this opportunity.

Understanding Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most formidable forms of cancer, often called a silent killer due to its subtle early symptoms. It's the deadliest common cancer, with a devastating statistic: half of those diagnosed pass away within just three months of diagnosis. This stark reality stems from the cancer's ability to develop and spread undetected until it reaches an advanced stage.

Early symptoms can be vague and easily mistaken for other conditions, including:

   •    Unexplained weight loss

   •    Back pain

   •    Stomach pain

   •    Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)

   •    Changes in bowel habits

   •    Loss of appetite

   •    Indigestion

Hope on the Horizon

However, there is hope. Researchers at Pancreatic Cancer UK are making significant strides toward developing a simple test for earlier detection. As Chloe emphasizes, "Thanks to the work of the dedicated researchers at Pancreatic Cancer UK, a simple test to detect the cancer earlier is within reach. It just needs more funding."

How You Can Help

We're continuing our support for Pancreatic Cancer UK by donating 10% of all sales from our Heather Floss Silk Pack and our new Brighton (PCUK) Pack from November 2024 until midnight 6 April 2025. Every thread you purchase helps weave a pathway toward better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients.

But we can do more. Here's how you can join our fight:

1    Support Chloe's Marathon Journey: Visit her fundraising page to make a donation and help her reach her goal. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to better detection methods and treatments.

2    Spread Awareness: Share information about pancreatic cancer symptoms with your friends and family. Knowledge saves lives.

3    Shop Purple: Purchase our Heather Floss Silk Pack and/or our new Brighton (PCUK) Pack, knowing that 10% of your purchase will go directly to Pancreatic Cancer UK.

A Message from Chloe

"This is not the first time I've fundraised for Pancreatic Cancer UK, and it certainly will not be the last! The charity desperately needs all the funds it can get to help with finding a way to detect this cancer sooner and to give families more time with loved ones."

As Chloe trains for the Brighton Marathon, she carries with her not just the memory of her father but the hope for all families affected by pancreatic cancer. Her determination echoes in the words of PCUK: "We will give it our all. We will not give up. And we will cross that finish line."

Join us in supporting Chloe's marathon challenge. Together, we can help fund the breakthroughs needed to detect pancreatic cancer earlier and save more lives. Visit Chloe's fundraising page to make your donation today.

Every step Chloe takes in the Brighton Marathon will be a step toward hope. Let's make sure she feels our support every stride of the way.
